Houston Junior Player Evaluation Process

The Houston Junior Volleyball Club will utilize several methods to select players. Only after an evaluation can a prospective player be offered a position in the Houston Junior organization. The evaluation methods are as follows:

1. Invitations to current HJV members will be extended by mail the first week of July.
2. All participants attending the Texas Volleyball Academy camps (June 17 - 19, July 21 - 25) will be evaluated for potential invitation.
3. All participants attending the Jump Start Program (June 17 - 19) will be evaluated for potential invitation.
4. All participants attending the Texas Volleyball Academy Sunday Skill Sessions (dates TBD, sessions start in the Fall) will be evaluated for potential invitation.
5. Any player wanting to be evaluated can ask for a private audition by contacting Mitch Casteel through his email (mitch.casteel@houstonjuniors.com) or by phone (call the office for the phone number).

Organizers and coaches within Houston Juniors emphasize the fundamentals of volleyball, the development of positive attitudes, the importance of preparation for top level competition, teamwork, and the value of volleyball as a sport.
